FIATA President Champions Collaboration and Education at TransLogistica Romania 2024!

On October 15, FIATA President, Turgut Erkeskin took part in the official opening of the TransLogistica Romania exhibition in Bucharest, one of Romania's key events in the logistics and transportation sector. Erkeskin had the honour of opening the exhibition and delivered a welcome address to attendees, emphasising the importance of collaboration and innovation in the logistics industry.

Following the opening ceremony, Erkeskin engaged with exhibitors and exchanged insights regarding the latest developments and solutions in the logistics sector in the region. His visit underscored FIATA's commitment to fostering industry growth and regional cooperation.

As part of the event, Erkeskin also participated in a panel discussion on education in transport, freight forwarding, and logistics. During the session, he presented the work of FIATA's Logistics Institute (FLI) and highlighted FIATA's educational and training programmes. The focus on education is timely, given the increasing complexity of today's logistics environment. He highlighted that the workforce challenges remain a concern, with a global shortage of skilled workers worsened by an aging workforce and rapid technological change. Indeed, as the sector relies more on advanced technology and data-driven decision-making, continuous training of workers is essential.

Erkeskin's participation in TransLogistica Romania reinforced FIATA's dedication to supporting the logistics sector not only through collaboration, partnership and advocacy but also by advancing professional development and training globally.
