Make Daggerwing a Destination in October

Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department. It is located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park at 11435 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, west of Boca Raton. For more information on Daggerwing Nature Center and other county-operated nature centers, visit www.pbcnature.com. All programs are by reservation only unless otherwise stated. Please register online at www.pbcparks.com; under "Online Services," click on Register/Pay for Program. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, and recreation.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 2:45 p.m.
Saturdays, 1 p.m.

During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing's resident animals.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: NIGHT OWL

Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)

Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and pre-schoolers!

ANIMAL KEEPER FOR A DAY
Thursday, October 3, 10 a.m.

Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)

Animal keepers have the coolest job! Work behind the scenes with animal care staff and volunteers to feed, clean exhibits, and provide enrichments to the animals at the nature center. Learn what it takes to care for these special animal ambassadors.

INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, October 5, 10:30 a.m.

Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)

Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills, and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: REPTILES
Tuesday, October 8, 3 p.m.

Ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)

CREEPY CRITTERS
Saturday, October 12, 10:30 a.m.

Do spiders make you jump? Do snakes make you scream? You can meet some live animals that many people consider creepy, and learn how these creatures are uniquely special and important to the environment.

Bring the kids in costume and enjoy not-so-scary Halloween games and crafts* while learning about nocturnal creatures such as owls, toads, snakes and spiders! Remember to bring a flashlight and bug spray to continue the adventure outside along the boardwalk at night! *While supplies last
