On July 4, around 6:30 p.m., officers from the Fitchburg Police Department responded to the area of Fish Hatchery Road and Greenway Cross for a report of a road rage incident involving a firearm. The victim reported a road rage incident occurred while they were traveling on Fish Hatchery Road. When the victim and the suspect vehicle came to a stop at a stop light, the suspect had pointed a firearm at the victim's vehicle. The victim's vehicle was occupied by the victim (driver), his significant other, and the victim's young child.
Fitchburg officers located the suspect vehicle, unoccupied, a few blocks away from the incident location. While continuing the investigation, Fitchburg officers located the suspect trying to get back to the suspect vehicle. The suspect was still armed with a handgun at the time of his apprehension. Fitchburg officers were able to safely take the suspect into custody, without incident.
Hector Hernandez Williams, a 18 year old Fitchburg resident, was booked into the Dane County Jail on charges of Intentionally pointing a firearm (x3), Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Identification Card Violation, and a Probation Violation.
