"North Korean troop deployments to Russia is a serious action that corners North Korean youth into a deadly situation"
Vice Minister Kim Soo Kyung interviewed live by MBN program (October 29)
On October 29, Vice Minister of Unification Kim Soo Kyung was interviewed live on MBN to discuss the South Korean government's stance on North Korea's deployment of troops to Russia.
Vice Minister Kim stated that North Korea's deployment of troops to Russia poses a significant threat to international security and directly violates UN Security Council resolutions prohibiting any form of military cooperation with North Korea. She emphasized that the deployment following weapons deals is a grave action that sends young North Koreans to their deaths in an unjustifiable war.
Additionally, Vice Minister Kim said that the government is closely monitoring the situation because it could pose a serious threat to the Korean Peninsula if Russia transfers military technology to North Korea in exchange for the troop deployment. She further explained that the government has prepared various response scenarios based on the development of the North Korea-Russia relationship and the evolving situation on the ground.
