Washington, DC, November 14, 2024 - The Aspen Institute's Aspen Ministers Forum and the Bertelsmann Foundation are proud to announce the final episode of season three's Leadership in Action video series. This episode features former Israeli Foreign Minister, former opposition leader in the Knesset, and Aspen Ministers Forum member Tzipi Livni.

This episode, filmed prior to the Hamas terror attack of October 7, 2023 and the ongoing conflict, highlights Livni's efforts as the chief Israeli negotiator in peace talks with the Palestinian Authority during the last two rounds of negotiations in the 2000s, the gaps that were bridged even when an agreement was not achieved, and the leadership that is needed for a better future on both sides.

The Leadership in Action series examines skilled negotiators and diplomatic practitioners reflecting on their attempts to resolve geopolitics' most intractable challenges, and shares insights in their own words.

"I believe that the difference between a politician and a leader is that the politician is thinking about the next day, the next headline, the next tweet, and thinking about him, and about his career, his personal career. And leaders are thinking about their people." said Livni.

All episodes for seasons 1-3 can be found at the Bertelsmann Foundation's website and YouTube channel.

Other leaders featured this season include Aspen Ministers Forum member, former Swedish Foreign Minister, and former Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations Jan Eliasson and Ugandan activist, politician, and musician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, better known as Bobi Wine. Previous seasons have included former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, European Union's former High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, and former British Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind.
