Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Dec. 2 - 8, 2024

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid-Missouri area Dec. 2 - 8, 2024. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures whichcould cause delays.  

All Counties

Moving operations such as pothole patching, mowing, brush cutting,and pavement repair continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow- moving equipment.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Boone County

Route M - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 6 at Route MM. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-70- Bridge construction continues for the new Rocheport Bridge near mile marker 115. The new eastbound bridge is scheduled to open to trafficin December 2024. 

Route TT - Upgrades to pedestrian facilities continue onBroadwaybetween Route ZZ and Silvey Street. The work is being done bythe city of Columbia. The project is scheduled for completion in December2024.

U.S. Route 63 - Bridge construction continues on U.S. Route 63 between the Broadway overpass and Conley Road underpass in Columbia. U.S. Route 63 will remain open but in a head-to-head configuration with narrowed lanes and reduced speeds. This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through late 2025. I-70 - New pavement construction continues in Columbia from Route B (Paris Road) to U.S. Route 63through January 2027 as part of the Improve I-70 program.Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project. Callaway County

Route BB - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2. at County Road 430. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Eastbound U.S. Route 54 - Routine bridge inspection planned Dec. 2 - 5 over the Missouri River. One lane will be closed 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.

Route Z - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 3. from Route JJ to County Road 115. The road will be CLOSED8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Missouri Route 94 - Shoulder workplanned Dec. 3 - 5 from County Road 453 to County Road 458. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route Z - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 4. from County Road 119 to County Road 108. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Route TT - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 6. at County Road 498. The road will be CLOSED 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

U.S. Route 54 - Guardrail work continues from Jefferson City to Kingdom City. Single-lane closures will occur at varying times, depending on the location. Expect delays during morning/evening rush hours. The project is expected to continue through January 2025.

Camden County

Route D - Culvert replacements planned Dec. 5- 6 in several locations. The road will be CLOSED daily, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m

• closed from Aubrey Bell Road to Brush Arbor Road.

• Dec. 6

• closed 1.5 miles south of U.S. Route 54.

Cole County

Outer Road 50 (Country Club Drive) - Pavement repair planned Dec. 2 - 3 at Hunters Run Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Eastbound U.S. Route 54 - Routine bridge inspection planned Dec. 2 - 5over the Missouri River. One lane will be closed 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily.

Cooper County

Route K - Bridge maintenanceplanned Dec. 2 - 6 at Blackwater River Creek bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Crawford County

Missouri Route 8 - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 6 from Missouri Route 19 to Route T. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Missouri Route 49 - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 6 from Missouri Route 19 to Route Y. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route M - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 6 from Missouri Route 8 to Route YY. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route HH - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2 - 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Howard County

Route W - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2 - 6 from County Road 400to County Road 402.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Laclede County

Route VV - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2. fromLonesome Road to Missouri Route 5. The road will be CLOSED, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Route O - Bridge maintenance planned Dec. 2 - 6 at the Gasconade River bridge. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route D - Culvert replacements planned Dec. 2- 4 in several locations. The road will be CLOSED daily, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• closed 0.5 miles north of Laurel Road.

• closed at Nathan Lane.

• Dec. 4

• closed at Nathan Lane.

Route E - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 5 - 6. The road will be CLOSEDfrom Bluff Trail Road to Route NN, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route.

Maries County

Missouri Route 42 - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 4 from the city of Vienna to the city of Belle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route C - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 4 from Missouri Route 28 to Route H. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Moniteau County

U.S. Route 50 - Roadside work planned Dec. 2 - 6 from Missouri Route 87 to Bahner Quarry Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Phelps County

Route F - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2 - 6 from County Road 3150 to County Road 3170. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route T - Pothole patching planned Dec. 2 - 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route HH - Culvert replacement planned Dec. 2 - 6 from County Road 8040 to County Road 8070. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

I-44 -Road resurfacing and reconstruction continues from Exit 186 in Rolla to Exit 195 in St. James. Expect overnightlane closures, westbound only,from U.S. Route 63 to Route 68. An 11-foot width restriction is in place. The end date for the project is yet to be determinedbased on concrete qualityissuesthat will need to be corrected. Pulaski County

RouteW - Roadside work planned Dec. 2at Rim Drive.One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.

Route BB - Roadside work planned Dec. 4 from Missouri Route 133 to Boren Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
