Board of County Commissioner's Schedule for Week of September 23 to September 27

MONDAY, September 23
8:30 a.m. - County Road Tour with Public Works and Road & Bridge
The Board will accompany county staff on a tour of county roads and bridges. The tour will begin at the County Administration Building in Durango.

TUESDAY, September 24
10:00 a.m. - Business Agenda Meeting
The Board will consider:

  1. Proclamation Celebrating Durango Cowboy Gathering.
  2. Approval of county cash requirements as prepared and posted by the Finance Department and direct staff to publish.
  3. Approval of the San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging proposal for services for SFY 2024-2025.
  4. Approval of the renewal and modification of a tavern liquor license for The Nugget Mountain Bar.
  5. Acceptance of the 2024-2025 Restorative Justice Capacity/Innovation Micro-Grant Award and Request to Serve as Fiscal Agent of the Micro-Grant Award on Behalf of the 6th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
  6. Consideration of Resolution 2024-35 repealing Article II of Chapter 94 of the La Plata County Code regarding the sale of county-owned real estate.
  7. Approval of Policy V.1, Acquisition and Disposition of County-Owned Real Property.
  8. Approval of a new policy for workers' compensation Administration.
  9. Approval of Lease Amendment #6 for water testing in the GSA/Federal Courts Space in the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E 2nd Avenue.
  10. Approval of a 5-year extension Lease Amendment for GSA/Federal Courts Space at the La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 E 2nd Avenue, Durango.
  11. Approval of a letter of support for Conservation Legacy's application for the Visit Durango Destination Advancement Grant.
  12. Approval of a letter of support for a grant from the Colorado State Historical Fund for preservation work at the Animas Museum.
  13. Approval of a letter of support for Wildfire Adapted Partnership's application to the Colorado State Forest Service for a Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation grant.
  14. Approval of a letter of support for the Gold King Mine Compensation Act.

Commissioner Marsha Porter-Norton will host "Coffee with a Commissioner" in Durango from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. County residents can stop by for an informal chat with Commissioner Porter-Norton at Durango Joe's Coffee, located at 1211 Escalante.
