Due to Election Day, the La Plata County Assessor, Motor Vehicle and County Recorder, and Treasurer's offices located at 679 Turner Drive in Bodo Park (AKA the ACT Building) will be closed to the public on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The Elections office will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for in-person voting and mail ballot drop-off.
Under Colorado law, electioneering (aka, campaigning) is prohibited from taking place either inside a polling place or within 100 feet of any building in which a polling location is located. In addition, electioneering is prohibited within 100 feet of a drop-box. Lawful peaceful electioneering and protest sites are available at:
Offices in the ACT Building will offer limited business services on Nov. 5:
Assessor's Office: The staff of the Assessor's office will work remotely on Monday, Nov. 4 as well as Election Day on Tuesday, and staff will be available by phone and email. All in-person services will be available the rest of the week as usual.
Treasurer's Office: Those wishing to submit payments may do so by using a drop box outside of the Treasurer's office (cashier's checks and money orders only will be accepted via the drop box.) Staff will be working remotely.
Clerk and Recorder's Office: Motor vehicle renewals may be completed at kiosks at North City Market in Durango and at Bayfield Town Hall. Online motor vehicle services are also available at https://cms9.revize.com/revize/laplata/departments/clerk_and_recorder_s_office/motor_vehicle.php
