OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 6, 2024) - U-Haul® has made six local Company stores available to help residents who were impacted by the tornadoes that struck the OKC metro area earlier this week.
Five tornadoes touched down and more than 100 homes and structures were damaged or destroyed during Sunday's outbreak, per reports. The communities of Harrah and Choctaw were among those hit the hardest.
Through the U-Haul disaster relief program, people now have access to 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box® container usage at these participating facilities. Access to dry and secure self-storage rooms and portable storage containers is essential during the recovery process after a natural disaster occurs.
Scott Brackin, U-Haul Co. of Southwest Oklahoma City president, and Kris Kleck, U-Haul Co. of Northwest Oklahoma City president, each made three of their stores available to help near the heavily impacted areas.
The free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box offer includes 30 days free use of a container at a U-Haul center, or a discounted delivery and pick-up service fee of $49 for tornado victims needing on-site portable storage at their homes.
People seeking more information or needing to arrange storage services should contact their nearest participating facility:
