Caution Regarding Fake Notices of Electronic Filing (NEFs)

The Administrative Office of U.S. Courts advises that fake NEFs are being sent to attorneys and law firms across the country. These NEFs are phishing attempts and are designed to have the recipient respond and open a subsequent email that leads the recipient to a malicious website. Recipients are encouraged to review all NEFs, to validate case information only through CM/ECF, and not to download any attachments or click any links from questionable sources.
