BGMC/GVI July 2024 Employee of the Month: Natacha Caballero-Rengifo

Congratulations to Natacha Caballero-Rengifo, environmental service aide, who was named the Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute (BGMC/GVI) Employee of the Month for July 2024.

Natacha was nominated by a co-worker, who said:

Natacha goes above and beyond for the entire OR Department, which, in turn, leads to better patient care management. Without her, staff and patients would be affected by the increased risks of contamination and infection. Her dedication to her job and the staff around her, makes her one of the most reliable co-workers.

Natacha is also a very respectful person. She always greets everyone with a smile and a hello. When she's cleaning the staff lounges, she's mindful of the toxic chemicals that staff members would find offensive during eating or drinking. She keeps the bathrooms smelling clean and remembers to keep doors open so that strong cleaning odors are tolerable. She truly takes her job seriously.

I have never witnessed someone who is as dedicated to their job as Natacha is. I am always in awe of her workmanship, integrity and commitment to her job. EVS is essential to our care for our patients. It is a highly underrated position, yet it is still one of the foundations of keeping our hospital system intact. And while I believe that she may be new in the OR departments, she only improves as time goes by. She definitely deserves to be recognized as a small token of a thank you to acknowledge that she is seen and appreciated.
