Opportunities for Housing Ahead Following GOP Election Trifecta

Housing was a critical issue throughout the 2024 election cycle, and NAHB was actively engaged in the conversation, launching a 10-point plan to address the housing affordability crisis and sharing our message with media outlets throughout the country.

NAHB hosted a webinar this week for members featuring staff experts from NAHB's advocacy team to discuss election outcomes at all levels, and how they impact policy going forward. The webinar replay is available to NAHB members on nahb.org.

NAHB Chief Advocacy Officer Ken Wingert, Chief Lobbyist Lake Coulson, Vice President of Government Affairs Scott Meyer and Vice President of State and Local Government Karl Eckhart shared insights on:

• What to expect in Congress based on the political shift in leadership,
• What issues and regulations NAHB will be targeting in the immediate term, and
• Successes at the local level, not only in election outcomes but key ballot initiatives.

"Our Federation is in a great position following the election," Wingert stated. "Throughout the campaign cycle, not only were our lobbyists engaged with members of Congress and the administration and our locals engaged as well, but BUILD-PAC had an incredibly successful night."

BUILD-PAC had a 96% success rate among the 360-plus candidates it supported, including more than half of the 70 new members entering Congress this session.
