RED FLAG WARNING: High Fire Risk - Limit Use of ALL Fireworks

Currently, there is a red flag warning in effect until Friday, July 5. Red flag warnings are issued when a combination of dry fuels and weather conditions support extreme fire danger. Given these circumstances, the City of Dublin and the Alameda County Fire Department are strongly advising limiting use of safe and sane fireworks in hillside areas that are subject to the red flag warning. The neighborhoods most at risk include:

East Dublin:

  • Cydonia Court
  • The entire Tassajara Hills neighborhood

West Dublin:

  • Western portion of Bloomington Way
  • Western portion of Marwick Drive
  • West of Creekside Drive
  • The entire Schaefer Ranch neighborhood
  • All properties south of Martin Canyon and west of Dublin Heritage Park

In addition to limiting use in these neighborhoods, the Fire Department is strongly advisingNO USE of safe and sane fireworks within 50 feet of any dry brush. There are also many areas directly adjacent a wildland interface that should also take extra precautions and create at minimum of 50 feet between the use of the fireworks and these areas:

  • Wallis Ranch
  • Positano
  • Jordan Ranch

As a reminder, the City has identified four park locations where safe and sane fireworks can be used by the public - Emerald Glen Park, Alamo Creek Park, Shannon Park, and the Dublin Sports Grounds. If you live in any of these areas, we strongly encourage you to take your fireworks to these parks for use.

The use of any NON-Safe and Sane fireworks is illegal, and users can be arrested and subject to severe fines. Dublin Police will patrol all neighborhoods on July 4 and will be on the lookout for those using illegal fireworks.
