‘Live! From Lion Country’ A&M Commerce Homecoming Week Set for Oct. 14 19

Country music's hottest rising act Shaboozey will headline homecoming concert

Get your best western attire ready, as "Live! From Lion Country" Homecoming Week is set for October 14-19 at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Following a theme based around country-western music, A&M-Commerce Homecoming Week boasts a packed lineup of events, with live entertainment every night from Monday through Friday. Fan-favorite events such as National Night Out, the hot dog spirit rally and homecoming bonfire will make a return along with several new and exciting offerings.

Homecoming Week will be punctuated with a bonfire and fireworks show featuring a concert with headline artist Shaboozey. This genre-blending breakout star combines elements of hip-hop, country and rock, achieving mainstream success in the last year.

His 2024 single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" currently sits at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has stayed at the top spot for 11 weeks total. His accolades also include an appearance on the soundtrack for the 2018 film "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" with his song "Start a Riot," as well as appearances on two tracks of Beyoncé's 2024 album "Cowboy Carter."

In addition to the homecoming festivities, Lion fans are encouraged to cheer on the home team at several Lion Athletics events:

  • Lion Softball vs. Oklahoma. Wednesday, October 16 at 6 p.m.
  • Lion Volleyball vs. A&M-Corpus Christi. Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Lion Soccer vs. McNeese. Friday, October 18 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Lion Volleyball vs. UT Rio Grande Valley. Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m.
  • Lion Football vs. Lamar. Saturday, October 19 at 3:30 p.m.
