NMU Board Approves POAM Union Contract

The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees approved a three-year contract for NMU's newly established Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM) union at a special meeting this afternoon. POAM members had unanimously ratified the agreement on June 20.

The contract is effective July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2027. Terms include a 2% wage increase plus a market adjustment in year one, a 2.75% increase in year two, and a 2.5% increase in year three.

According to Human Resources, there are 10 POAM members at Northern.
