Portage la Prairie RCMP investigate stabbing

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 1:20 am, RCMP responded to a stabbing on 2nd Street NE in Portage la Prairie.

Officers immediately attended and located a 37-year-old male with serious injuries. Officers administered first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived and transported him to hospital where he remains.

It was reported the male was on a bicycle when two individuals approached him, stabbed him, and stole his mountain bike.
The suspects are described as being in their late teens or early 20's, wearing dark clothing.

Numerous patrols were made in and around the area but the suspects were not located. His bicycle was located abandoned a short distance away.
