Evolution of Third Party Releases, Artificial Intelligence, Consumer Bankruptcy Best Practices and More to Be Discussed at ABI's 2024 Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute Program[...]

Alexandria, Va. - ABI and the UMKC School of Law are pleased to present the 2024 Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, taking place Oct. 24-25, 2024! This year's program continues its tradition of timely business and consumer tracks, providing the training you need at affordable pricing. Attendees have the opportunity to earn up to 9.5 hours of CLE/CPE credit and 2.0 hours of ethics credit. There is also a special track of programs tailored to consumer practitioners at a reduced rate.

The Frank W. Koger Luncheon and Lecture will feature Hon. Dennis R. Dow (ret.) (Shawnee Mission, Kan.) discussing the case history of the evolution of third-party releases. ABI's popular ABI Talks session will feature TED Talk-like discussions on debtors with gig and e-commerce jobs, an analysis of the "Corporate Transparency Act," an economic update and the intersection of state and federal court issues. There will be a special presentation of the Michael R. Roser Excellence in Bankruptcy Award to Bankruptcy Judge Cynthia A. Norton (W.D. Mo.; Kansas City). The Roser Award is presented to an individual who manifests the highest standard of excellence in bankruptcy practice, who has contributed distinctively to the development and appreciation of bankruptcy law, and/or who has made an outstanding contribution in the field of bankruptcy administration or practice. Andrew J. Nazar of Polsinelli PC (Kansas City, Mo.) and Kristina M. Stanger of Nyemaster Goode, P.C. (Des Moines, Iowa) are the program co-chairs, and Bankruptcy Judge Brian T. Fenimore (W.D. Mo.; Kansas City) is the judicial chair.
