(COLUMBUS, Ohio) - As the leaves turn and the air cools, TourismOhio invites adventurers and nature lovers to explore the state's breathtaking landscapes and charming small towns.

To help make the most of the season, TourismOhio has partnered with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to share a list of 15 must-visit Ohio State Parks for a spectacular leaf-peeping weekend. From picturesque panoramas, hiking trails, outdoor activities, and even a few "hauntings," there is an adventure for everyone.

"Autumn is the perfect time to get out and take in the natural wonder of Ohio in all its vibrant colors," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development, which oversees TourismOhio. "Whether you choose to explore one of our 76 state parks or one of our charming towns, you're sure to find an enchanting fall experience in the Heart of it All."

Forecasting the exact peak of fall foliage can be tricky, as different regions of Ohio turn colors at different times. To help travelers plan their trips at the perfect time, TourismOhio recommends checking ODNR's Fall Color Updatesand the Ohio Fall Color Progress Mapfor real-time updates on where the colors are at their best.

"No two Ohio State Parks are the same, each providing their own unique view of the beauty of fall in Ohio, and opportunities for adventure," said Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz. "We can't wait to welcome hikers, campers, and travelers to celebrate the season as many of our park staff host events from fall hikes to campground decorating contests and trick-or-treat."

For a different view of the fall colors, TourismOhio's list of Charming Ohio Towns to Check Out this Fall for a Perfect Weekend Getawayprovides more inspiration. Whether travelers stop by as the ideal end to a long day hiking at a nearby state park or are spending the weekend exploring scenic views and historic landmarks, these charming towns offer the perfect backdrop for a relaxing fall retreat.

"There's nothing quite like celebrating the season in one of Ohio's charming small towns. This fall, imagine streets lined with jack-o-lanterns, crunchy leaves underfoot, and one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experiences you won't find anywhere else," said state tourism director Sarah Wickham. "Whether you immerse yourself in a local festival or create your own traditions, these towns provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation and unforgettable memories."
