The City of Cedar Falls is inviting the community to help name its snowplow fleet!
From November 20 to December 4, the public can submit their name suggestions at bit.ly/CFSnowplow. Winning entries will receive a pair of day passes to The Falls Aquatic Center for the summer 2025 season. All winners will be invited to an open house at the Cedar Falls Public Works Complex (2200 Technology Parkway) to get photos taken with their snowplow.
The public will get the chance to submit names for 23 snowplows total. Nine of the snowplows will be dedicated to the area elementary schools - Orchard Hill, Aldrich, Cedar Heights, Hansen, North Cedar, Lincoln, and Southdale as well as PK-6 grade students from St. Patrick Catholic School and Valley Lutheran. Students can submit names for their corresponding snowplow at bit.ly/CFSnowplow and select their school from the dropdown box (legal guardians must submit the entries on behalf of the student- see the full contest rules at bit.ly/CFSnowplow).
Winners will be announced on December 9 via the City Facebook page @citycf and the Cedar Falls website at www.cedarfalls.com. The winning entries will be chosen by a selection committee which will include Cedar Falls Public Works employees and the City Administrator.
"This is a fun opportunity for the community while also highlighting the important work and dedication of our City snow removal team," said Communications Specialist Amanda Huisman. "We can't wait to see the response from our citizens and students!"
