Western has replaced its campus safety phone app from what was the LiveSafe app to a new and updated app using the RAVE AppArmor platform named Western Safe.

Western Safe is a Western owned and branded app that will support the previous functionality included in the LiveSafe app and expanding on that functionality to create a dynamic, more robust campus safety app for the University community.

Users can contact emergency resources directly from Western Safe as well as utilize other features including access mental health resources, report suspicious activity, request a safety escort, request motorist assistance, report graffiti, have a friend virtually walk with you, mobile blue light phone functionality, access emergency procedures, submit a Ready Request, and more.

This app has a full-featured version for students and employees as well as a guest version with reduced features for guests and external users. Both versions provide access to emergency and supportive resources.

Western Safe was soft-released last week and is now available for the entire Western community to download including guests! All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to download Western Safe for ease of access to campus safety resources. The app can be downloaded from the Emergency Management & Business Continuity website at https://embc.wwu.edu/western-safe.
