E. LEWIS STREET BRIDGE OPEN TO TRAFFIC

Lafayette, LA -Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) announces the reopening of the E. Lewis Street bridge on the UL Lafayette Campus, crossing Coulee Mine. Repairs consisted of strengthening and painting the steel girders Vermilion Red, concrete patching, constructing new drainage catch basins, constructing ADA compliant sidewalk slopes leading up to the bridge, and sealing and coating the deck.

An epoxy-urethane coating to seal the deck and add a friction course will be applied on the bridge in the near future. Any related closures will be scheduled for a weekend date to minimize disruption to local traffic.
