VENTURA, Calif. - For this week's Vote Early Day, Patagonia volunteers joined the League of Conservation Voters' (LCV) GreenRoots team on Tuesday to get out the vote for climate in Las Vegas. As part of Patagonia's Vote Hercampaign, the outdoor apparel company closed its stores yesterday to give employees a paid day off for Vote Early Day, and more than 30 employees traveled from the company's headquarters in Ventura, California to Las Vegas to knock on doors and talk to potential voters with just a few days until Election Day, collectively knocking on over 1,500 doors.
"We couldn't be more excited to work with Patagonia volunteers to help get out the vote and elect climate champions up and down the ballot in Nevada, including Representative Susie Lee, Senator Jacky Rosen, and Vice President Kamala Harris," said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. "Addressing the climate crisis has never been more important, and we're all in to help elect a pro-climate, pro-democracy trifecta."
"To save our planet from the climate and nature crisis, we must elect leaders who share our sense of urgency, and we're thankful to have partners in the environmental community such as the League of Conservation Voters dedicated to achieving that goal," said Corley Kenna, Patagonia's chief impact and communications officer. "We have been working with LCV for more than 20 years and we're once again asking our community to vote for Mother Earth, just like we have since we took out our first local newspaper ad in Ventura in 1978 to advocate for candidates and ballot measures."
"I am incredibly grateful to have the support of Patagonia and League of Conservation Voters volunteers as we work to keep public lands in public hands, and to promote sustainable outdoor recreation and conservation," said Congresswoman Susie Lee. "Together, we will elect candidates up and down the ballot who are committed to combating climate change and keeping our air and water clean for generations to come."
Last week, LCV Action Fund released its first-ever climate candidate guide, which will help voters see endorsed climate candidates from LCV Action Fund and state leagues, voter registration status, and polling locations.
