The Fargo Public Library has several fun, free events scheduled to help residents make the most of their upcoming fall weekend.

Area teens, ages 11 to 15, are invited to make Halloween-themed cauldron bath bombs to get in the spirit of the season on Friday, Oct. 11, starting at 2 p.m. at the Northport Library. All supplies will be provided, and pre-registration is required. Register online at fargolibrary.org or contact Lauren at 701.241.1495.

National Reptile Awareness Day occurs each year in October as a way to promote education, conservation and appreciation for reptiles. The Fargo Public Library is celebrating with a "Reptiles at the Library!" event on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Main Library. Kids of all ages are invited to investigate the really-not-so-creepy crawlers at this open house-style event that runs from 10 a.m. to noon. Dr. Matthew Smith and students from NDSU's Herpetology Lab will be on hand to show off some of their scaly sidekicks. A reptile craft and other themed activities will also be available. No registration is required. Details at fargolibrary.org/kids.

Teens, ages 12 to 18, are invited to join in the ARTtober fun at the library with two upcoming "Art and Chill" events. The first session is Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Dr. James Carlson Library; a second session is set for Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Main Library at 1 p.m. Lots of art supplies and the ARTtober prompts will be available for teens to make art. No registration is required. Contact Anna at 701.298.6960 for details or visit fargolibrary.org/teens.

All ages are invited to learn the secrets of turning ordinary pumpkins into works of art when pumpkin carver extraordinaire Scott "Stormin'" Norman visits the Dr. James Carlson Library on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. He will share tips and tricks in selecting the perfect carving pumpkin, drawing the pattern and easily cleaning out the inside - just in time for Halloween. No registration is required. Details at fargolibrary.org/kids or call Cindy M. at 701.241.1495.

Teens, ages 12 to 18, are invited to make Halloween-themed spray tie-dye T-shirts with glow-in-the-dark elements on Monday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Northport Library. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. All supplies will be provided. Participants will be contacted via email after registration for their shirt size.
