Booker, Helmy Host Annual Academy Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Cory Booker (D-NJ) and George Helmy (D-NJ) addressed over 500 New Jersey students and their parents at the annual Service Academy Information Day at Seton Hall University. The event provides information to interested New Jersey high school students on service academies and their admission requirements. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

"Today, I had the incredible privilege of meeting young leaders from all over New Jersey who are eager to serve our nation and attend an esteemed service academy," said Senator Booker. "I am so impressed by their passion and dedication to making a difference and shaping the future of our country for the better. Our nation's service academies are institutions of academic excellence, but more importantly they are places where young people are able to learn the true meaning of service and sacrifice. I wish the best of luck to all of the young men and women I met today as they embark on this journey; their commitment is an honor to the countless American heroes who came before them."
