Minister of Foreign Affairs had a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Catherine West MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom

On 20 September 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a bilateral meeting with Mrs. Catherine West MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom, during her visit to Southeast Asian region, to discuss ways to concretise cooperation following the signing of the Thailand - UK Strategic Partnership Roadmap in March 2024 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on the MoU for a Thailand-UK Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) that was signed on 18 September 2024, paving the way for a Thai-UK FTA in the future.

Both sides discussed priorities of their goverment policies and also key areas of cooperation as outlined in the Roadmap, particularly in economic development, trade and investment, public health, education and visa exemptions for Thai diplomatic and official passport holders. They also exchanged views on regional situations, including the situation in Myanmar and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Thailand and the United Kingdom will celebrate 170 years of diplomatic relations in 2025.
