Mayor McLean Appoints City Council Pro Tem To CCDC Board Of Commissioners

November 15, 2024

Boise City Council will consider the confirmation of Mayor Lauren McLean's appointment of City Council Pro Tem Meredith Stead to the Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) Board of Commissioners. Stead will finish out the remainder of a five-year term, ending March 2027.

"Meredith has an impressive background that will serve this role and shares our vision to create a welcoming city for everyone," says Mayor McLean. "I look forward to recommending her to the city council."

Stead has worked in Boise as marketing director for both Ballet Idaho and the Boise Valley Economic Partnership. She is currently a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Albertsons Companies and City Council Pro Tem. Her long history of volunteer work in the community is notable, including serving six years as a volunteer on the City of Boise Planning and Zoning commission, and as Chairperson for two terms. She served on the FUNDSY Board of Directors, as the president of Boise Metro Chamber's Leadership Boise, as a mentor for Conservation Voters of Idaho's Public Boards and Commission Fellowship, and on the Boise State Public Radio Community Advisory Board.

Stead has been recognized by the Idaho Business Review as an Accomplished Under 40, a Power 25, and as a Woman of the Year nominee.

"It is the opportunity of a lifetime to serve on the Capital City Development Corporation Board of Commissioners," says Meredith Stead. "With my background in economic development, the arts, and planning and zoning, it is an organization I have long admired and am thrilled to bring that diverse mix of experience to the board."

CCDC is a public redevelopment agency that serves as a catalyst for quality private development through urban design, economic development, and infrastructure investment. Commissioners are selected by the mayor and confirmed by the Boise City Council. With up to nine voting members, commissioners represent, as much as possible, the broad spectrum of people who enjoy all that Boise has to offer.

The consideration of her confirmation will be at the regularly scheduled Boise City Council meeting on November 19.
