Minister Bancha exchanges views on evacuation plans with Standing Committee on Natural and Public Disasters Prevention and Mitigation, the House of Representatives of Thailand
On 5 November 2024, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission, Royal Thai Embassy, Seoul welcomed Mr. Jeseth Thaiseth, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee on Natural and Public Disasters Prevention and Mitigation, the House of Representatives of Thailand and his delegation to the Embassy during their study visit in the ROK from 31 October to 5 November 2024.
Minister Bancha together with Colonel Itt Thippayachan, Defence/Army Attache gave their briefings and exchanged views with the delegation on assistance measures for approximately 200,000 Thai nationals in the ROK during disasters such as emergency alert and evacuation plans.
The Embassy has currently encouraged Thai illegal migrants in the ROK to join the special voluntary return programme of the KIS, which will be valid until the end of November, in order to get fine exemption. This measure will help reduce the number of Thai illegal migrants and increase quota for Thai legal workers in the future.
