Bangor to host neighborhood meetings to discuss planning efforts

Bangor, Maine - The City of Bangor is in the midst of writing a Consolidated Plan for its Community Development Block Grant program. The feedback on the Consolidated Plan will help inform what neighborhood improvements to fund over the next five years, including things like sidewalks, street trees and other services.

The City is also about to embark on rewriting the Land Development Code and revising its zoning to align with the 2022 Comprehensive Plan, as well as looking at street safety improvements that can be made.

To further inform residents and to get feedback on these efforts, the City is hosting neighborhood meetings at various locations in the city in November and December. There will be free food and kids' activities and those needing accessibility accommodations can note that on the sign-up page, which can be found linked on the City's calendar at www.bangormaine.gov. The sign-up page and the City's calendar also list the dates, times and locations of the meetings.

There is also a survey available on the current Land Development Code. Those who are interested can go to www.bangorblueprint.com to take the survey, to find out more about the Land Development Code update process, and to sign up for email updates.
