Photos: This Week in Springfield

This week, the House Minority Leader held a special reception to honor Brent Hassert, who passed away this past summer. Hassert was a former Republican lawmaker who left a profound impact on past and present members of the General Assembly. A special Resolution was read to honor his memory in the Illinois House, with the Hassert family present in the Speaker's gallery for the occasion.

The House Minority Leader spoke on the House Floor during the second day of veto session.

Leader McCombie also spent time talking with students from the University of Illinois Springfield's Public Affairs and Reporting program.
