Lincoln Beach Redevelopment and Reopening Public Comments and Questions

The revitalization and reopening of the Historic Lincoln Beach located at 13904 Hayne Blvd., a treasured landmark in New Orleans history, is moving forward with a strong commitment to inclusivity and engagement. The City of New Orleans values the input of all members of the community in shaping the future of the reopening of the Beach.

The beach is currently closed, with the intent to reopen soon. However, your diverse community voices are not just important, they are key in shaping the future of Lincoln Beach as a space where everyone is welcome and entertained. As progress is being made in developing the master plan to restore and celebrate the history of this significant space, the project team remains deeply committed to your continued involvement in the planning process.

To ensure that Spanish-speaking residents have access to information and a platform to share their ideas and feedback, community public meetings, surveys, engagement opportunities, and printed materials related to the Lincoln Beach Master Plan are offered in Spanish. During community meetings, bilingual interpreters and facilitators are available to ensure every voice is heard and every story is valued.

The Lincoln Beach Master Plan project team has launched a survey following its Nov. 7 Public Milestone meeting. The survey aims to help build consensus on refining and prioritizing previously identified options for structures and amenities incorporating recreation, culture, history, and environmental guardianship on the beach site. The City of New Orleans wants to hear from the local Spanish-speaking population about their thoughts and desires for the beach. This input is welcome and crucial to this process.

For comments or questions about Lincoln Beach, community members can call 504-224-9531 (leave a message) or email [email protected]. Public feedback is important to the City and will help shape the future of Lincoln Beach. Feel free to communicate in your preferred language, whether Spanish or English.
