Iranian Ambassador calls on SL Defence Secretary

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka His Excellency Dr. Alireza Delkhosh paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) at the Defence Ministry in the Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte, today (Nov. 01).

After a warm reception, the Defence Secretary had a cordial discussion with the Iranian envoy on matters of bilateral importance and cooperation.

Marking the occasion, Ambassador Delkhosh presented a copy of the Sinhala translation of Omar Kayyam's book Rubaiyat to the Defence Secretary, who reciprocated with a memento.

Military Liaison Officer Air Vice Marshal Padman De Costa and Defence Attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Sri Lanka Col. Homayoun Aliyari were also present at the occasion.
