UW School of Energy Resources Roadshow in Casper Oct. 15

The University of Wyoming School of Energy Resources (SER) will host an Energy Roadshow presentation in Casper Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The meeting will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Natrona County UW Extension Office and Agriculture Resource Learning Center, located at 2011 Fairgrounds Road. The event is free and open to the public; pizza and refreshments will be provided.

This is the second in a SER-sponsored series that is intended to provide a platform for community members across the state to learn about different research and energy projects led by SER; specific projects going on in the area; and general information about the energy industry in Wyoming.

The Casper presentation will focus on carbon management fluency to better understand carbon dioxide (Co2) storage in geologic formations, and to enhance the connection between the technology and how it can positively impact a community.

The roadshow is part of the Co2 Storage Excellence Fund efforts led by Autumn Eakin, a UW SER associate research professional.

"We are excited to provide an opportunity for community members in the center of the state to learn about carbon storage technology," Eakin says. "We hope that we can build a better understanding between carbon management and what that means from an economic standpoint for our Wyoming communities."

In addition to the informative presentation, attendees can visit multiple booths for additional information covering topics such as SER projects and educational programs and general information, such as basic geological principles and technology; landowner resources; economic benefits; and workforce development resources.

"We have a very comprehensive team of experts from SER showing up to share their knowledge, so we encourage folks to come out, ask questions, eat free food and have some fun learning about carbon management," Eakin says.

UW's Energy Roadshow is planned to become a permanent feature in the annual SER events calendar.
