Lamar students reflect on Homecoming 2024, Waka Flocka Flame concert

We caught up with students during Homecoming Week to hear their thoughts on the festivities and the importance of student engagement in shaping their campus experience.

First, we spoke to students at the Waka Flocka Flame concert. Known for hits like "No Hands" and "Hard in da Paint," the rapper brought energy and excitement to Homecoming, uniting students for a fun night of music and school spirit.

Q: How do you feel this concert adds to the Homecoming experience at LU?
A: I think it adds a lot. Ending the week of festivities like this, right before the big game, is a great experience.

A: We're often stuck in the books, so it's great to have something like a concert to take our minds off studying and get out of the classrooms and dorms for a change.

A: I feel like concerts can bring school spirit, even outside of Homecoming Week. Sometimes people hesitate to participate in events, but concerts like this bring everyone together as a student body.

A: This concert brings our student community together. Whether or not everyone knows the artist, it creates an atmosphere we're supposed to feel-a chance to unwind from studying and enjoy something provided by LU.
