2024 Band Day sees nearly 450 local high school students perform with Spirit of Southeastern

The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Department of Music hosted yet another largely attended Band Day on Saturday, September 21, in conjunction with the Savage Storm's football home opener against Oklahoma Baptist.

The Spirit of Southeastern Marching Band welcomed nearly 450 students from local high schools to go through rehearsals during the day before rousing pre-game, in-game, and halftime performances during the football game.

"We had a great combination of first-time attendees as well as repeat performers for this year's Band Day," said Dr. Michael Scheuerman, Director of Bands. "This day is a wonderful time to familiarize these potential future band members to our students, current band members, faculty, and campus. I hope the visiting students had a great time, learned something new, and will consider becoming part of our Southeastern family in the future."

Students came to Band Day from Durant, Atoka, Coalgate, Dickson, Healdton, Okemah, Wilson, Vian High Schools in Oklahoma, and Bells, Bonham, Callisburg, Honey Grove, Pottsboro, and S&S High Schools in Texas.
