NAVER 1784, The "Tech Convergence Building," Welcomes Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce

- Fourth visit of high-ranking Saudi officials in three years, following the Ministers of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, and Communications and Information Technology, as well as the President of Saudi Data & AI Authority

- TEAM NAVER, having recently begun work on Saudi Arabia's digital twin project, explores various collaboration opportunities with the Ministry of Commerce to stimulate the digital economy

NAVER 1784, the "tech convergence building," hosted a delegation led by H. E. Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia, on July 29. The Ministry of Commerce oversees the Kingdom's commercial, trade, and investment activities.

This visit marks the fourth high-ranking Saudi government official to tour NAVER 1784 in the past three years. The series of visits began in November 2022 with H. E. Majed Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRAH), who recognized NAVER as a potential partner for Saudi Arabia's national digital transformation. Subsequently, H. E. Eng. Abdullah Alswaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), visited in October 2023, followed by H. E. Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, President of Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), in May 2024.

The Saudi Arabian delegation included H. E. Dr. Majid Al-Kassabi, who also serves as the Chairman of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC); H. E. Dr. Eiman Al-Mutairi, Vice Minister of Commerce and CEO of the NCC; and H. E. Sami Alsadhan, Saudi Ambassador to Korea. NAVER was represented by Chae Seon-ju,President of NAVER's ESG and External Policy, Kim Yu-won, CEO of NAVER CLOUD and Seok Sang-ok, CEO of NAVER LABS

During their visit, the Saudi officials experienced firsthand how NAVER 1784 integrates advanced digital twins, robotics, AI, and cloud technologies that have garnered global attention. The delegation also received comprehensive briefings on NAVER's diverse business competencies, including search, e-commerce, and content ser

vices. In addition, both parties explored various collaboration opportunities to stimulate Saudi Arabia's digital economy.

NAVER officially began working on Saudi Arabia's digital twin project in July. This visit coincided with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce's visit to Korea to attend the "Korea-Saudi Business Forum."
