Trick-or-Treat on the Trail to be held Oct. 31 in Lower Ramble

FAYETTEVILLE Ark. - The third annual Trick-or-Treat on the Trail will be held 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Lower Ramble.

The free, fun-filled Halloween event for trick-or-treaters of all ages is open the public. It is being held in partnership between the City of Fayetteville, Rotary Club of Fayetteville and Experience Fayetteville.

Trick-or-treaters, their families and friends and invited to the trails in the Fay Jones Woods for an evening of costumed celebration. Representatives from City departments, Experience Fayetteville and the Rotary Club will be situated at stops along the trails to hand out treats.

"We are so excited to celebrate the spooky season in Fayetteville's Lower Ramble," said Joanna Sheehan Bell, arts and culture director for the City. "The Fay Jones Woods has become a beloved setting for festive, family-friendly events, and we look forward to welcoming the community back for another Halloween celebration."

Attendees are advised that one block of S. West Avenue will be closed between Mountain and South streets from 3 to 6:30 p.m. to ensure safe crossings for the event. The main event entrance will be located at 255 S. West Ave.

Along with nearby on-street parking, free parking will be available at the Fayetteville Public Library and the City's Mountain Street surface lot two blocks away.

Rotary Club President Emily Mizell said, "This is such a great community event, and the Rotary Club of Fayetteville is proud to continue to be a part of it. Rotary is all about Service Above Self, and this is a fun way to do that while helping make Fayetteville such a great place to work and live."

The event is accepting applications through Friday, Oct. 18, from community organizations to host candy stations. If interested, contact Sarah Dilatush, arts and culture program assistant, at [email protected] or 479-841-6653.

Additional volunteer opportunities to help with the event are available on the Parks, Natural Resources and Cultural Affairs Department's GivePulse page: https://givepul.se/kypjtm.
