Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, the Development Finance Institution DEG, and the Company for Promotion and Participation in Economic Cooperation (Proparco), has formalized a financing agreement to support the construction of a new 630-bed, round-the-clock multidisciplinary hospital in Kokshetau. The borrower for this project is RenEll Kokshetau LLP, with Rönesans Holding A.Ş. as the shareholder.

It is noteworthy that this project marks the first public-private partnership (PPP) in the healthcare sector in Central Asia, involving the construction of a new medical facility covering 110,000 square meters. The new hospital will become a state-of-the-art medical center equipped to the latest global standards, ensuring that residents of Kokshetau and surrounding areas have access to high-quality healthcare services. The project's implementation also includes the integration of cutting-edge technologies and treatment methods, along with the enhancement of healthcare infrastructure in the region.

The total financing committed by syndicate participants will reach up to EUR 365 million, of which EUR 30 million will be provided by the Bank as loan funds to cover construction, equipment procurement, and other activities during the investment phase.

"Today, we are taking an important step towards improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare services for our citizens. This strategically significant project not only enhances the standard of living for the population but also strengthens international cooperation in the social sector. Through this syndicate, we are uniting the efforts of financial institutions, ensuring sustainable and long-term financing for the realization of such impactful initiatives", commented Marat Yelibayev, Chairman of the Management Board of DBK.

The project is expected to create hundreds of jobs during the construction phase, as well as skilled positions for medical personnel once the hospital is operational. The multidisciplinary hospital will provide services to over 730,000 residents in the city of Kokshetau and the Akmola region.
