State Police in Troop G make notable DWI arrests 10/18- 10/23

On October 18, 2024, at about 2:43 p.m., State Police of Clifton Park stopped a vehicle on Saratoga Avenue in Waterford, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. The driver was identified as Mark D. Knickerbocker, 40, of Mechanicville, NY. Also located in the vehicle was a child under the age of 16. Knickerbocker was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra's Law), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The child was turned over to a family member. Knickerbocker was transported to SP Clifton Park for processing, where he recorded a 0.09% BAC. He was issued tickets returnable to the Waterford Town Court on November 14, 2024, and released to a sober third party.

On October 18, 2024, at about 8:15 p.m., State Police of Granville responded to the reports of a one-car crash with utility wires down in the area of State Route 149 in Granville, NY. The driver was identified as Joseph M. Mattison, 38, of Granville, NY. Mattison was determined to be uninjured and arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Granville for processing, where he recorded a 0.22% BAC. Mattison was issued tickets returnable to the Granville Town Court on November 11, 2024, and released.

On October 19, 2024, at about 11:52 p.m. State Police of Chestertown stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Bolton for Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. The driver was identified as Michael A. Thomsen, 34, of Queensbury, NY. Thomsen was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to SP Chestertown for processing, where he recorded a 0.19% BAC. Thomsen was issued tickets returnable to the Bolton Town Court on November 13, 2024, and released to a sober third party.
