Renters in Baxter, Benton, Boone, Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion and Randolph counties with losses from the severe storms of May 24-27 can apply for federal disaster assistance.
FEMA Individual Assistance is available to homeowners and renters, including students. Federal grants can help pay for temporary housing.
Renters may also qualify for a grant under FEMA's Other Needs Assistance program for some uninsured personal property losses and other disaster-related expenses. These may include:
To apply for FEMA disaster assistance, call toll-free 800-621-3362, go online to DisasterAssistance.gov, download the FEMA App or visit a Disaster Recovery Center. The phone line is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT, and help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service such as VRS, captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA your number for that service. The deadline for applications is July 29, 2024.
