New Water Utilities Webpage

Did you know the City's Water Resources and Drinking Water divisions are no longer in the same utility?

A few years ago, the decision was made to reorganize our water programs into two separate utilities, Drinking Water and Water Resources. The Water Utilities webpage was designed to make it quicker and easier for community members to access program information.

Drinking Water
The Drinking Water utility provides and protects Olympia's drinking water; ensuring a sufficient supply for our growing community. The City's Reclaimed Water Program is also part of the Drinking Water utility. Our vision is to be recognized as a model municipal drinking water system that values organizational development, innovations in technology, sustainability, fiscal responsibility and excellent customer service.

Water Resources
Water Resources is comprised of Wastewater and Storm & Surface Water utilities.
  • The Wastewater (sewer) utility protects public and environmental health by safely collecting and transferring sewage to the LOTT regional treatment facility in downtown Olympia.
  • The Storm & Surface Water utility works to prevent flooding, ensure water quality, and protect and enhance Olympia's streams, wetlands and shorelines.
