Governor Lombardo Appoints Caleb Cage to Nevada Commission on Ethics

CARSON CITY, NV - Today, Governor Joe Lombardo announced his appointment of Caleb Cage to the Nevada Commission on Ethics. Cage will fulfill the remainder of Stan Olsen's term, following his resignation.

"It's been a privilege to serve on the Nevada Commission on Ethics over the past year," said Stan Olsen, outgoing member of the Nevada Commission on Ethics. "While out of state family obligations require me to step away from this important position, I am proud of the work we have done and am confident that the renewed commitment to the integrity, professionalism, and stated mission of the Nevada Commission on Ethics will continue under Chair Scherer's leadership."

"I'm pleased to announce my appointment of Caleb Cage to the Nevada Commission on Ethics," said Governor Joe Lombardo. "Over the past decade, Caleb has honorably served in bipartisan roles in nearly every level of state government. Caleb's remarkable military and public service background will make him an exceptional asset to the Nevada Commission on Ethics."

After graduating from the United States Military Academy, West Point, Cage served in the U.S. Army for five years and served two tours in Iraq. Beginning his civilian career in 2007, Cage served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Nevada Lieutenant Governor, before serving as the Executive Director of the Nevada Office of Veterans Services. Cage was then appointed as the Director of Military and Veterans Policy by Governor Brian Sandoval.

Cage proudly served in critical positions under both Governor Brian Sandoval and Governor Steve Sisolak, including as Chief of the Nevada of Emergency Management and Homeland Security Advisor, before he was recruited to Nevada System of Higher Education to serve as Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development and Chief Innovation Officer in 2021. Cage earned a master's degree in Security Studies from the Center for Homeland Defense and Security at the Naval Postgraduate School, and he is currently a PhD candidate in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Cage's term will begin on November 25, 2024 and conclude on June 30, 2027.

The Nevada Commission on Ethics is an 8-member body appointed by the Governor and Legislative Commission to interpret and enforce the provisions of the Ethics in Government Law set forth in NRS Chapter 281A.
