On November 20, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received Daphne Mare, the newly appointed head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the Republic of Armenia, on the occasion of handing over the credentials.
Congratulating the new head of the delegation, Vahan Kostanyan expressed hope that the ICRC will continue to be actively involved in addressing humanitarian issues in Armenia and providing support to vulnerable groups.
During the meeting, the sides elaborated on periodic visits of the ICRC to the Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons held in Azerbaijan, determining the fate of the missing persons and enforced disappearances, as well as other humanitarian issues.
Daphne Mare, the head of the ICRC delegation, expressed readiness to spare no effort within the scope of her authority to ensure the continuity of close cooperation with the Armenian side.
