Thursday, Nov. 14 Georgia College & State University's Music Department presents the "GCSU Opera Scenes Ensemble: Desire & Destiny" at 7:30 p.m. in Max Noah Recital Hall. Fourteen students and a community member will perform six scenes from different operas, including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Così fan tutte, Gaetano Donizett's L'elisir d'amore, Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier, Giuseppe Verdi's La traviata and Gilbert and Sullivan's The Pirates of Penzance, Georges Bizet's Carmen. The performance features a duet, trio, sextet and three ensemble pieces with scenes presented in Italian, German, French and English. Three scenes will be staged by student directors Hallie Thompson, Riley Greer and Addie Resh. This concert will also be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/GCMusicDepartment. A $5 donation is encouraged. Online donations can be made at give.gcsu.edu/g/department-of-music/.
