As a community, we weathered the unprecedented challenge of two hurricanes in two weeks. Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton showed us the importance of preparing, staying calm, and coming together to heal. It will take some time to fully recover, but we're still with you, St. Pete.
The City of St. Petersburg has partnered with the Pinellas Community Foundation to launch the We Are St. Pete Fund, the first of its kind for the City. The fund will assist in fundraising for disaster relief for residents, small businesses, and City of St. Petersburg employees recovering from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. 100% of the donations received will directly support those impacted.

If you're rebuilding after storm damage, follow these tips:
Get required permits before you or your contractor start repair, improvement, or construction on your home
Build back safer and stronger - consider building stronger to withstand future storms
Hire a licensed contractor
Elevate your electrical outlets and HVAC system
To help out, the City is temporarily waiving the application and inspection fees for permits to perform demolition and repair of properties damaged by Hurricane Helene or Hurricane Milton.

We need to give a huge shoutout to our local haulers that have helped remove debris from our double hurricanes. Through our Hometown Recovery Haulers Program, they helped us chip away at the debris in our hardest-hit neighborhoods.
The back-to-back storms created an unprecedented amount of household and vegetative debris in St. Pete. Crews are working hard and doing multiple citywide sweeps to clear the debris as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible. As expected, it will take some time to collect all the debris and we appreciate your patience as we work to clean up St. Pete.
Help us out:
Separate your debris by type: vegetative, fencing materials, electronics, appliances, construction materials
Do not bag your debris
Place your debris on the roadway curb, not in the alley
St. Pete residents can drop off vegetative debris at the City's Brush Sites, 7 days a week. 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Grass, leaves, tree and shrub trimmings, palm fronds, limbs, and logs are accepted.
