Tokyo, October 24, 2024 - Rakuten Group, Inc. will host its annual technology event Rakuten Technology Conference 2024 on November 16 at Rakuten Crimson House. The event aims to bring together tech leaders, engineers, researchers and tech enthusiasts from around the world to explore the future horizons of technology through a range of talk sessions and panel discussions. In the 16^th edition of the event, this year's theme is "AI-nization 4.all" (AI-nization for All). Anyone can register for free on the official website^*1. Admission to the event is free and the majority of the conference sessions will be conducted in English.

This year's theme, "AI-nization 4.all," combines the phrase "AI-nization," which represents Rakuten's initiatives to implement AI in every aspect of its business to drive further growth, with the company's commitment to realizing a world where anyone can enjoy the benefits of AI. Under this theme, the event will spotlight the transformative potential of the latest technologies, including AI, across various fields such as cloud, data, e-commerce, fintech and mobile technology.

In addition to sessions featuring Rakuten Group Chairman and CEO Mickey Mikitani and tech leaders from across Rakuten's businesses, notable guests from the tech industry such as Sean Varley, Chief Evangelist, VP of Business Development at Ampere, and Tomas Moreno, Outbound Product Manager, Cloud AI at Google LLC, will also take to the stage^*2.

Rakuten Chief AI & Data Officer Ting Cai will share the latest Rakuten AI updates and discuss the innovations that upcoming AI models from Rakuten will bring. Taku Okoshi, Director, AI Services Supervisory Department at Rakuten, will be joined by Tomas Moreno of Google for a discussion on AI product strategy and utilization of generative AI by enterprises.

Rakuten Technology Conference is also fun for the entire family, featuring a range of family-friendly activities from interactive booths where attendees can experience the services provided by Rakuten Mobile to a Kids Park where children can try out the latest tech. Hungry conference goers can also get the full Rakuten work experience with food and refreshments from one of Rakuten's cafeterias. Additionally, the Rakuten Technology Excellence Award 2024 award ceremony will recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to innovation in society through advanced technologies.
