Lora Strigens, vice president for planning and facilities management, and Alix Riley, chief academic effectiveness officer, have been appointed to co-lead the implementation of the Marquette 2031 Strategic Plan: Guided by Mission, Inspired to Change, Acting President and Provost Kimo Ah Yun announced today. Strigens and Riley will build upon the work done by the previous strategic plan core team, led by Dr. Chris Navia, acting vice president for belonging and student affairs, and Rev. John Thiede, S.J., vice president for mission and ministry.

"Lora and Alix bring the ideal combination of strategic thinking, data mapping and coalition building skills to effectively move our Marquette 2031 Strategic Plan forward," Acting President Ah Yun said. "They have deep institutional knowledge and strong leadership skills, and I look forward to working closely with them to enact the bold plans we have set forth."

As co-leads, Strigens and Riley will further the Marquette 2031 Strategic Plan by integrating planning efforts, refining recommendations, identifying an actionable, measurable set of strategies and creating an organizational leadership structure for implementation, Acting President Ah Yun said.

Bringing Marquette 2031 Strategic Plan and Securing Our Future implementation together

Recommendations from the Securing our Future steering committee will be implemented over time as part of the "Healthy Campus" theme of the Marquette 2031 Strategic Plan. As communicated previously in Marquette Today, the Securing Our Future Steering Committee's report of recommendations has been delivered to ELT and will be shared with campus later this month.

"The stated goals of our Healthy Campus theme make clear that 'delivering on our mission requires establishing a culture that can work collaboratively, consider resources in new ways and move intentionally to adapt to challenges,'" Acting President Ah Yun said. "This is the very crux of Marquette 2031: Securing Our Future - its initiatives will be most effectively put into action through the thoughtful implementation of our strategic plan."
