Mayor Bowser to Unveil Marion Barry Jr. Mural

(Washington, DC) - On Saturday, November 23 at 10 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will join District leaders, artists, and community members to unveil the Marion Barry Jr. mural in the lobby of the Marion S. Barry, Jr. Building. This permanent art installation pays tribute to the life, contributions, and enduring legacy of Mayor Marion Barry Jr. and commemorates the tenth anniversary of his death.

The artwork, created by a team led by multimedia artist Nabeeh "Nabi" Bilal, features large-scale murals alongside interactive kiosks and displays that capture key moments in Mayor Barry's life, including his work as a civil rights activist, his leadership as DC's "Mayor for Life," and his transformative impact on the District.
