PSO SENDS CREWS TO FLORIDA TO ASSIST IN POWER RESTORATION EFFORTS AHEAD OF HURRICANE MILTON

TULSA, Okla., October 8, 2024 - Approximately 380 Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) workers and contractors are on their way to assist Tampa Electric as well as Florida Power and Light (FPL) as Hurricane Milton moves toward Florida's west coast. This comes only one day after PSO crews returned to Oklahoma after helping restore power to thousands of Hurricane Helene victims in Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee.

After Hurricane Milton makes landfall, PSO crews will begin to receive their work assignments and locations to help bring the lights back on to impacted communities. The contingent includes line crews, servicers, tree trimmers, fleet mechanics, and other support personnel.

"Following a successful effort to restore power for victims of Hurricane Helene, our crews are now ready to provide mutual aid for people in Florida," said PSO President and Chief Operating Officer Leigh Anne Strahler. "The work being done in the wake of these powerful storms goes a long way to help hard hit communities."

There is no definitive timeframe for the PSO workers to remain in Florida. PSO's ability to respond to customer needs in Oklahoma will not be impacted by the mutual assistance effort.
