City Council To Recognize Safety Record Of Water Pollution Control Facility

Celebrating 25 Years Of A Spotless Record

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the city's Water Pollution Control Facility for 25 years of safe service to the community at the Oct. 16, 2024, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

The city of Las Vegas Water Pollution Control Facility will be recognized by Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen for achieving 25 consecutive years without a single discharge permit violation from the National Association of Clean Water Agency. This means that water in the city is being properly and safely treated before it is returned to Lake Mead, which is the main source of the valley's water supply. This remarkable record reflects the city's unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship, operational excellence and the highest standards of water quality management.

In addition, the October 2024 Employee of the Month also will be recognized.

The meeting will be broadcast live on cable channel 2, and at www.kclv.tv/live.

Public comment will be available for items on the agenda until 5 p.m. Oct. 15, at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/councilcomment. Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so online, or to attend the meeting in person and participate in the public comment periods. Meeting agendas may be viewed at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/meetings.
