Hurricane Helen - Storm Information

As Hurricane Helene approaches, here are some storm prep information and tips to keep in mind.

City crews are:

• Inspecting and cleaning storm drains, outfalls and inlets
• Lowering city-owned retention ponds and continuing to monitor water levels
• Securing loose material and wind-borne debris at all city facilities
• Readying emergency pumps

Community preparation:

• Secure yard debris, loose material and garbage cans
• Place sandbags around vulnerable areas
• 24-hour dispatch line (386) 671-8815 for residents
• Sign up for emergency alerts at DaytonaBeach.gov/Alerts

Additional Information:

• Community centers will be closed and programs are canceled Thursday
• Garbage collection will operate as scheduled
